Royal Pains (videorecording)

    Review by:  Lisa

Title:  Royal Pains

Starring:  Mark Feuerstein, Paulo Costanzo, Jill Flint, Reshma Shetty, Campbell Scott

Collection:  Movies

Meet Dr. Hank Lawson, young, brilliant, and recently fired from his ER in Brooklyn for all the wrong reasons. Through a twist of fate, he now finds himself the newest ‘concierge doctor’ in the Hamptons. Providing round-the-clock house calls to the community’s rich and famous might be lucrative, but it’s not without its challenges and frustrations.

Lawson’s brother, Evan (Paul Constanzo), his on again off again romantic interest Jill (Jill Flint), and Boris (Campbell Scott), the enigmatic landlord complete the ensemble cast that all make the show fun to watch.  However, I have to say that Divya, played by Reshma Shetty, is one of the characters who make the show worth watching.

The beautiful scenery of the Hamptons and the homes shown are stunning.  Complete with interesting medical diagnoses and the oftentimes MacGyver-like conditions that Hank rigs up to help people in emergencies which are fascinating, Royal Pains is entertaining and enjoyable television.

Royal Pains has just started its third season on USA network, but you can catch up with seasons one and two at the library.
