An Evening with Local Authors–December 1st at 7pm

December 1 at 7PM  An Evening with Local Authors will take place at the LaVale Library. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the LaVale Library, Inc., and is open to the public. Four local authors will discuss their work. Barbara Townsend, historical fiction writer of “Under the Wolf Moon,” set in the Potomac Highlands during the turbulent 1850s, will talk about the novel and sites mentioned in it as they are today. Shane Riggs, well-known local author and playwright, will discuss his recent novel, “Song of the Red Sparrow,” which he describes as “an epic soap opera,” taking place during the Civil War. Melanie Michael, author, along with John Alderton, illustrator, will present their popular children’s book about a gray mouse sock puppet, “Nerfnerd.” Donna Walbert, a health care professional and native of Western Maryland, will read from her poetry and exhibit her artwork.
