Scarlet by A.C. Gaughen

      Review by:  Lisa

Title:  Scarlet

Author:  A.C. Gaughen

Collection:  Teen Books

Will Scarlet shadows Robin Hood, with an unerring eye for finding treasures to steal and throwing daggers with deadly accuracy, but when Gisbourne, a ruthless bounty hunter, is hired by the sheriff to capture Robin and his band of thieves, Robin must become Will’s protector risking his own life in the process.

Having been a fan of the Robin Hood legend for most of my life, from the Disney movie version (Ooohdalally Ooohdalally Golly What a Day!) to the book by Howard Pyle, to Kevin Costner in Prince of Thieves, to the BBC series starring Jonas Armstrong, I wanted to read this new book by A.C. Gaughen.  The cover caught my eye immediately, and then when I read the jacket, with library card in hand, it was mine! (at least for awhile 😉  I am happy to report that I was not disappointed.  It is difficult to provide details without spoiling anything, but suffice it to say that I was immediately caught up in the story and it looks to be positioned for a sequel.
