May 17 –The Optimist’s Daughter by Eudora Welty

Welty’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel reexamines Laurel McKelva Hand’s relationships with her family members, including the one with her young stepmother. Laurel hasn’t been home in a long time but has traveled back to New Orleans to be with her father who is having medical problems. All does not go well.
