Title:  The fault in our stars

Author: John Green

Collection:  Teen Books

Sixteen-year-old Hazel, a stage IV thyroid cancer patient, has accepted her terminal diagnosis until a chance meeting with a boy at cancer support group forces her to reexamine her perspective on love, loss, and life.

This book is in a word:  amazing.  I know you may read the summary above and think it will be  a “downer” and that you are not in the mood to be depressed.  I shared this concern, but it was so overshadowed by recommendations and buzz that I wanted to give it a try.  Let me tell you:  I was hooked from the start, and could not put it down.  After reading it, I could not stop thinking about the last 100 pages of it for days.  It is a beautiful story, and yes, you will have to have some tissues handy.

One of the best books of the year.  Do not let this one pass you by!
