Title:  Nightsong

Author:  Ari Berk ; illustrated by Loren Long

Collection:  Childrens EZ Books

Chiro, a young bat, is nervous about flying into the world for the first time without his mother, especially on a very dark night, but he soon learns to rely on his “song” to find his way and stay safe.

Ari Berk is an award-winning writer and poet, and this skill set is reflected in Nightsong.  Loren Long enhances Berk’s lyrical storytelling with endearing illustrations of Chiro and his mother.  The story is beautifully told, and ideal for any little ones who might be afraid of the night or darkness, or of being alone without a parent.
